The Belize Diaspora Summit (“Organization,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this Website to provide information, including but not limited to event registration services, networking opportunities, diaspora event resources, and related services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use this Website. By using the Website, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

6. Payments and Refunds

In the event that fees are charged for registrations, sponsorships, exhibits, advertising, memberships, or other services, the following terms shall apply:

  1. All fees are stated in the applicable currency.
  2. Payments must be made using approved payment methods.
  3. Fees are non-refundable unless expressly stated otherwise.
  4. There are no refunds once tickets are purchased.
  5. Refunds shall only be given under extraordinary circumstances for which a request must be made in writing no later than seven (7) calendar days after the last event, and such refunds will be assessed by us on a case-by-case basis.
  6. We reserve the right to cancel transactions suspected of fraud or unauthorized activity.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. By using the Website, you consent to our collection, processing, storage, and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy. Information collected may include, but is not limited to:

By attending any Belize Diaspora Summit event, whether virtual or in-person, you consent to being photographed, recorded, or filmed. You grant the Organization the right to use your image, likeness, voice, statements, and appearance for promotional, educational, archival, and marketing purposes without compensation unless otherwise prohibited by law.

12. Intellectual Property Rights

All Website content, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, trademarks, images, videos, audio, designs, software, and databases, is owned by or licensed to the Organization and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified, or exploited without express prior written consent by the Organization.

Users of the Website may not under any circumstance:

If liability is imposed by law, our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you to the Organization for the price of one ALL ACCESS TICKET to the Summit.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Organization and its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, volunteers, sponsors, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your use of the Website, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

18. Event Changes and Force Majeure

We reserve the right to modify, postpone, relocate, convert to a virtual format, or cancel any event without liability due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, public health emergencies, transportation disruptions, labor disputes, security concerns, or technology failures.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiations. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Palm Beach County, Florida, USA.
