Biography

Margaret B. Usher is a proud resident of Santa Elena Town, Belize, and the daughter of Cecil and Aurora Usher. A devoted mother of three sons—Lorenzo, Adrian, and Alton—Margaret has dedicated much of her life to empowering others through mentorship, motivation, and leadership. She is a passionate advocate for youth development, encouraging young people to pursue higher education, believe in themselves, and follow their dreams under her guiding philosophy: “Yes, You Can.”

Throughout her distinguished career of community service, Margaret served as President of the Belize Association Inc. of Florida, where the organization provided full four-year scholarships to students from Benque Viejo del Carmen and San Ignacio to attend Sacred Heart College. Her commitment to service and philanthropy earned her recognition, including an award at the International Red Carpet Affair in Los Angeles in 2017. She also played key roles in fundraising efforts for Belize Flood Relief in 2015 and participated in community rebuilding initiatives in Broward County, Florida.

Following her retirement in the United States, Margaret returned to Belize and continues to serve her community as a member and former director of the Western Region Optimist Club 501 Belize. Her greatest passions are family, community service, travel, and bowling, where she has earned multiple first-place awards.
