Biography
Allan Pollard is currently serving his third term as an elected Councillor of the Belize City Council, distinguishing himself as one of the youngest elected officials in the country. First elected at the age of 24, he has dedicated his public service career to advancing the development and modernization of Belize City.
Over the past four years, Councillor Pollard has served as Deputy Mayor, where he managed one of the Council’s most extensive portfolios, including Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Labor Relations. In this capacity, he has played a key role in shaping policies and executing projects aimed at improving city resilience, public services, and urban growth.
In addition to his public service, Mr. Pollard is an active businessman, contributing to economic growth through investment, enterprise development, and job creation. His experience in building and managing businesses informs a results-driven approach to governance, with a strong focus on expanding opportunities, supporting local enterprise, and strengthening the city’s economic foundation.
Mr. Pollard’s leadership extends beyond municipal governance. He has served on the Board of Directors for Belize Water Services Ltd. and the National Sports Council, and currently holds appointments on the Belize Social Security Board and Belize Telemedia Ltd. He also serves as a Steering Committee Member for the Commonwealth Youth for Sustainable Urbanisation, contributing to regional and international dialogue on sustainable city development and youth engagement.
An alumnus of St. John’s College, he is presently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics at the University of the West Indies, further strengthening his academic foundation in governance and public policy.
Driven by a clear vision for the future, Councillor Pollard is committed to transforming Belize City into a smart and resilient urban center through strategic infrastructure development and sustainable urbanization. He remains a strong advocate for youth engagement in governance and continues to champion community-based initiatives that empower the next generation of leaders.
