Verlene Pitts

Biography

Verlene Pitts is a Senior Project Manager at Progressive Insurance with a background in project leadership, process improvement, and business transformation. Her work centers on leading cross-functional initiatives, improving operational effectiveness, and helping teams navigate change with clarity and structure. She brings a blend of strategic thinking, process discipline, and people-centered leadership to complex work.

Before her current role, Verlene built experience across process consulting, operations, and leadership, including earlier leadership roles at GEICO. She also returned to Belize to support BTL’s FY2016/17 rollout of a new mobile network, an effort that helped improve mobile data speeds, service quality, and customer experience.

Verlene remains deeply connected to Belize through civic and diaspora engagement and is one of the organizers of the Belize Diaspora Summit. . Her involvement includes work connected to the Civic Fellowship Program and broader efforts that support civic dialogue, community development, and stronger ties between Belize and its global diaspora
